New Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the Tennessee Valley Until 5 a.m.

| April 8, 2020 @ 10:18 pm

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 5 a.m. CDT for North Alabama.

Severe storms tonight over northern Middle Tennessee are moving east southeast tonight ahead of a cold front, with a threat of damaging winds, hail, and tornadoes.

A severe weather threat continues downstream ahead of these storms, with strong wind shear. Instability will actually increase into the early morning hours as colder temperatures aloft overspread the area.

Damaging winds and large hail will be the main threat, but there will be a chance of a tornado as well.
