Late Night Introduction to Arthur

| May 16, 2020 @ 11:29 pm

The first tropical storm of the North Atlantic Hurricane Season has been named late tonight.

Tropical depression Number One was upgraded to a tropical storm at 10 p.m. based on Air Force reconnaissance reports of tropical storm force winds in the eastern semicircle of the storm.

Top winds are 40 mph.

The system is over cooler water now, but will move back over the Gulfstream late tomorrow and could intensify a bit. Top winds could reach 50 mph.

The storm is forecast to pass just east of the Outer Banks of North Caroolina on Monday afternoon after remaining well offshore of the coats of Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina.

I will have a full update and the video before 7 a.m.
