Some Tropical Mischief Possible Over the Atlantic This Weekend
The National Hurricane Center has issued a Special Tropical Weather Outlook as there is a surface trough and associated upper-level disturbance over the central Atlantic Ocean several hundred miles east-southeast of Bermuda, producing disorganized shower activity and gusty winds.
Gradual development of this system is possible, and it could acquire some subtropical characteristics on Friday and Saturday as it moves generally northward. It has a low chance (30%) of formation during the next 48 hours and five days. Development is not expected after that time as conditions will become unfavorable.
This will be no threat to Central Alabama or the Alabama Gulf Coast.
