Flood Advisory for Elmore & Montgomery Co. Until 6:15 pm

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Flood Advisory for…
Southwestern Elmore County in east central Alabama…
Northern Montgomery County in south central Alabama…

* Until 615 PM CDT.

* At 409 PM CDT, emergency management reported heavy rain in the
advisory area due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or
expected to begin shortly. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have
fallen.

Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Montgomery, Prattville, Millbrook, Wetumpka, Coosada, Lagoon Park,
Eastdale Mall, Gunter Air Force Base, Auburn University In
Montgomery, Montgomery Zoo, Boylston, Alabama State University,
Alabama State Capitol, Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium, Bob Woodruff
Lake, Pinedale, Blue Ridge, Mount Meigs, Emerald Mountain and
Maxwell Air Force Base.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
