Scattered Showers and Storms Across Alabama

Scattered showers and storms continue to increase across Alabama this afternoon.

The main concentration is over southeastern and southern portions of Central Alabama, from near Wadley in Randolph County to southwest of Montgomery. Winds gusted to 59 mph at Dannelly Field in Montgomery at 1:50 p.m.

The other concentration is over Northwest Alabama, with showers and storms over Colbert, Lamar, Fayette, and Walker Counties.

A storm is over northern Madison County north of Huntsville.

A couple of cells are over southern Shelby County southeast of Calera, and over Perry County, northwest of Marion.

Two of the storms have prompted severe storms out of the NWS Birmingham, but there are no severe storms in Centraal Alabama right now. There are a couple of severe thunderstorm warnings in Southeast Alabama right now.

Some of the storms could be strong to severe the remainder of the afternoon.
