EXPIRED Flood Advisory for Winston County Until 10:00 pm

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Flood Advisory for…
Winston County in northwestern Alabama…

* Until 1000 PM CDT.

* At 805 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain
have fallen over a short period of time. Rain will continue as
showers and storms slowly drift through the county.

Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Lynn, Arley, Double Springs, Addison, Corinth Rec Area, Houston
Recreational Area, Winston Free State Barn, Camp McDowell, Poplar
Springs, Moreland, Falls City, Smith Lake, Inmanfield, Helicon,
Ashbank, Nesmith, Houston, Natural Bridge, Winston County Airport
and Cane Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
