Hurricane Laura at 8 p.m.: Pressure Continues to Fall; Down to 937 millibars

The storm surge is already at 4.5 feet above normally dry ground at Freshwater Canal Locks in Vermillion Parish, well east of the expected landfall point of Hurricane Laura.

Hurricane-force gusts are being reported from the South Marsh Oil Platform.
