While Warm, It Remains Quite Comfortable Just After Midday

| September 5, 2020 @ 1:31 pm

Other than a few clouds over the western parts of the area, much of Central Alabama is seeing plenty of sunshine and more comfortable and less humid air outside at 1:20 pm. Radar is free from any shower activity and it will stay that way for the rest of the day. Temperatures across the area were in the lower 80s to the lower 90s as of the 1:00 pm roundup. Troy was the hot spot at 93 degrees while the cool spot was Haleyville at 82 degrees. Gadsden has apparently transported a glacier into their area as the temperature was reading -62 degrees… obviously, that is a sensor malfunction. Birmingham was sitting at 85 degrees.

Skies will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy throughout the remainder of the afternoon hours with afternoon highs hitting the mid-80s to the mid-90s across the area from northwest to southeast. Skies will become clear by or just after sunset and overnight lows will dip into the lower 60s to the lower 70s.

Much of the same story for your Sunday… lower humidity levels throughout much of the day until the evening as moisture will start to return with an easterly flow across the area. It will be another mostly sunny day with highs reaching the upper 80s to the lower 90s. A stray shower or two may be possible over the extreme southeastern parts of the area.

While we will have a little more humidity in the air, we look to stay dry for Labor Day… so, be sure to get outside and enjoy the nice weather. Skies will be mostly clear and highs will once again be in the upper 80s to the lower 90s.
