The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for…
Bullock County in southeastern Alabama…

* Until 130 AM CDT Thursday.

* At 725 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the
warned area. Between 3 and 7 inches of rain has fallen. Flash
flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD…Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing
flash flooding.

SOURCE…Doppler radar.

IMPACT…Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include…
Union Springs, Midway, Aberfoil, Franklin Field, Beans Crossroads,
Pickett, Shopton, Guerryton, Sedgefield, Perote, Three Notch,
Simsville, High Ridge, Tanyard and Mitchell.

Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 5 inches are possible in the
warned area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
