* Flash Flood Warning for…
Central Russell County in southeastern Alabama…
* Until 415 AM CDT.
* At 1016 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the
warned area. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Flash
flooding is expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD…Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing
flash flooding.
SOURCE…Doppler radar.
IMPACT…Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include…
Phenix City, Russell County Sports Complex, Seale, Ladonia, Fort
Mitchell, Parkmanville, Uchee Creek, Fort Mitchell Activity
Center, Phenix Drag Strip and Ladonia Sports Complex.
Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 5 inches are possible in the
warned area.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
