Flood Advisory for Dallas and Perry Counties Until 3:30 am

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for…
Perry County in central Alabama…
Dallas County in south central Alabama…

* Until 330 AM CDT.

* At 1222 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. This will
cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 2 and 3 inches of
rain have fallen.

Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Selma, Valley Grande, Marion, Uniontown, Selmont-West Selmont,
Orrville, Newbern, Potter Station, Dallas County Horse Arena,
Marion Junction, Bogue Chitto, Memorial Stadium, Old Cahaba Park,
Vaiden, Paul M Grist State Park, Dallas Lake, Burnsville, Dannelly
Reservoir, Belknap and Central Mills.

Additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is expected over the area. This
additional rain will result in minor flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
