A Late Evening Look at Iota and Theta

| November 14, 2020 @ 9:12 pm

Theta is 445 miles ESE of the Nicaragua/Honduras border. The storm is moving west at 5 mph. Top winds are 70 mph. Radpip strengthening is possible over the next couple of days. Iota could be a major hurricane when it reached the coast near the Honduran/Nicaraguan border late Monday night/early Tuesday.

It will bring another 10-20 inches of rain, storm surge, and destructive winds to the areas surrounding the border between Honduras and Nicaragua. Devastating flooding and mudslides will be the result. The area is still recovering from Hurricane Eta.

The one piece of good news is that Iota poses no threat to the United States, the Bahamas, Cuba, the Cayman Islands, Hispaniola, or Jamaica.
