Noon Forecast Update: A Cold, November Rain to be Followed by Much Colder Weather

Moderate rain now covers much of the I-59 Corridor southwest of Birmingham in Alabama. There is no thunder involved. Just a chilly rain with temperatures in the 50s. Winds have been light so far. Only Auburn shows gusting winds right now…at about 20 mph.

Our surface low is near New Orleans. It will move northeast into Alabam this evening and push across the state overnight.

The heaviest rain should be over for Central Alabama by early evening. Moderate rain will continue across Northwest Alabama as the low tracks past.

Winds will become gusty tonight.

The only chances for severe weather will be over coastal Alabama, Northwest Florida, and Southeast Alabama. Here is the Significant Tornado Parameter. There could be a tornado in these areas tonight:

Low clouds will hang tough over much of Central Alabama into tomorrow.
