Strong Storms Affecting Portions of Talladega, Chilton, Shelby, & Coosa Counties

…SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SOUTHWESTERN TALLADEGA…
CHILTON…SOUTHEASTERN SHELBY AND COOSA COUNTIES UNTIL 230 AM CST…

At 140 AM CST, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Wilsonville to near Parnell. Movement was
east at 55 mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with these storms.

Locations impacted include…
Sylacauga, Clanton, Childersburg, Columbiana, Jemison, Wilsonville,
Rockford, Talladega Springs, Stewartville, Weogufka, Thorsby,
Maplesville, Dollar, Gap Of The Mountain, Parnell, Strickland
Crossroads, Bentleyville, Hatchet, Verbena and Marbury.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
