Wind Advisory for North Alabama Starting at 6:00 pm Tonight

NWS Huntsville issues a WIND ADVISORY for the following counties in North Alabama starting at 6:00 pm tonight: Colbert, Cullman, DeKalb, Franklin, Jackson, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Marshall, and Morgan. The advisory is set to expire at 12:00 pm Thursday.

Here is the text of the advisory from NWS Huntsville:

…WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO NOON CST
THURSDAY…

* WHAT…Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph
expected.

* WHERE…All of north Alabama and southern middle Tennessee.

* WHEN…From 6 PM this evening to noon CST Thursday.

* IMPACTS…Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree
limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
Any holiday decorations should also be tied down and secured.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high
profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
