Strong Storms Affecting Parts of Pickens & Lamar Counties

…SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR NORTHERN PICKENS AND SOUTHEASTERN
LAMAR COUNTIES UNTIL 130 AM CST…

At 1250 AM CST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Bigbee Valley, or near Pickensville, moving northeast at 40 mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include…
Gordo, Reform, Millport, Carrollton, Pickensville, Kennedy,
Ethelsville, Bevill Lock And Dam, North Pickens Airport, McShan,
Shaw, Owens, Forest and Melborne.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in Birmingham.
