Significant Weather Advisory Replaces Freezing Fog Advisory for North Alabama

| January 13, 2021 @ 9:11 am

…Significant Weather Advisory for Patchy Freezing Fog across north central Alabama, northeast Alabama and southern Middle Tennessee…

North Alabama counties included the advisory are Limestone, Madison, Morgan, Marshall, Jackson, DeKalb, and Cullman.

Patchy Freezing Fog will continue to result in visibility reductions across portions of north central Alabama, northeast Alabama and southern Middle Tennessee through 11 AM CST. Although visibilities have generally improved into the 2 to 4 mile range, pockets of locally dense fog will remain possible in larger river valleys, with visibility reductions to one quarter of a mile or less possible in these areas.

Motorists are urged to drive with extreme caution, as visibilities will vary significantly given the patchy nature of the freezing fog. Reduce driving speed and allow for plenty of room between you and other cars.

The fog should dissipate by 11 AM CST.
