Blue Skies Aplenty on this Sunday Afternoon

Most areas have a good bit of blue sky showing early on this Sunday afternoon. Some high clouds are pushing out of Southeast Alabama, and a well-developed patch of altocumulus clouds are pushing across West Central Alabama.

Temperatures are in the 50s area wide and that is where our highs for the day will land. It is 55F at Birmingham and Tuscaloosa and 53F at Anniston this hour.

It will be chilly tonight, with lows between 28-31F area wide. It will be a little breezy late tonight and early Monday morning as an upper trough slides east of the area.

Monday will feature partly cloudy skies in the wake of the trough. High pressure will be building in behind it, but another trough passing well to our northeast will push a front towards Alabama by Tuesday. There could be a few showers Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, mainly over northwestern and northern sections.

Wednesday looks dry, but rain will return late Wednesday night and Thursday, with the best rain chances on Friday. The weekend looks good.
