Decent Showers Passing Through Birmingham Metro

| January 31, 2021 @ 3:35 pm

Temperatures have warmed into the middle and upper 60s across Central Alabama and even to near 70F at Tuscaloosa this afternoon.

This has allowed for enough instability to develop to produce a few heavy showers ahead of the front. Tops are up to about 16-18,000 feet on these cells, so they are producing brief downpours. No lightning though.

The front is now between Hamilton and Jasper.

Winds are gusting to 25 mph at Columbus MS with a temperature of 54F. It is 50F at Tupelo and 42F at Memphis.
