Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Portions of Central Alabama Until 8:00 am Saturday

NWS Birmingham has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for several counties in the northwestern parts of Central Alabama starting immediately and is set to expire at 8:00 am. Those counties include Blount, Fayette, Lamar, Marion, Walker, Winston

…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM CST SATURDAY…

Periods of freezing rain are expected to affect parts of northwest Central Alabama through early Saturday morning.

* WHAT…Freezing rain expected. Total ice accumulations of a light glaze.

* WHERE…Blount, Lamar, Fayette, Marion, Walker, and Winston Counties.

* WHEN…Until 8 AM CST Saturday.

* IMPACTS…Slick spots may occur on bridges and overpasses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Slow down and use caution while traveling. Prepare for possible power outages.
