How’s Our Weather at Midday on This First Day of Spring

| March 20, 2021 @ 12:20 pm

As of 12:00 pm, skies across much of North/Central Alabama have cleared out and maximum sunshine can be seen and enjoyed. For the extreme southern and southwestern portions of the area, the cloud cover over those areas will continue to move westward, but some cloud redevelopment may occur and spread northward to make skies partly cloudy. Temperatures were in the lower 50s to the right at 60 degrees across the area. Albertville was the cold spot at 50 degrees while Tuscaloosa was the warm spot at 60 degrees. Birmingham was at 57 degrees.

Most locations will continue to have mainly sunny skies throughout the rest of the daylight hours, but those in the southern and southwestern parts may continue to hang on to some of those clouds for a little while longer. Afternoon highs look to top out in the upper 50s to the mid-60s across the area from northeast to southwest. Skies will stay mainly clear for tonight, but clouds will begin to increase across the southeastern parts of the area. Overnight lows will be in the mid-30s to the lower 40s.

Sunday may start off with a mix of sun and clouds across the area, but those clouds will eventually give way to a good bit of sunshine. It will be a warmer day with afternoon highs reaching the lower to mid- 60s in the north and the mid to upper 60s in the south.
