Flood Warning for Parts of the Birmingham Metro Area

The flash flood warning has been replaced with an areal flood warning for parts of the Birmingham Metro area.

Here is current radar on left and accumulated rainfall on the right.

Some flooding is ongoing across the flood warning area.

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Flood Warning for urban areas and small streams in…
Blount County in central Alabama…
Jefferson County in central Alabama…
St. Clair County in central Alabama…

* Until 515 AM CDT.

* At 1120 PM CDT, Gauge reports indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in
the warned area. Between 3 and 4 inches of rain have fallen.

Birmingham, Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Bessemer, Homewood, Mountain
Brook, Trussville, Hueytown, Gardendale, Irondale, Leeds, Moody,
Fairfield, Rainbow City, Fultondale, Oneonta, Springville,
Odenville, Sumiton and Blountsville.
