Heads Up Pickens and Northern Sumter: Storm Heading Your Way Trying to Rotate

| April 9, 2021 @ 10:55 pm

NWS Meteorologists are carefully watching a pivot that has developed in the line of storms over Noxubee and Kemper Counties in eastern Mississippi.

This potentially dangerous storm will enter northern Sumter and southern Pickens Counties shortly. This is the northern extent of the instability boundary and also some higher low-level shear, and there is some possibility that a tornado could form here.

Be ready to go into your safe place immediately if a warning is issued.
