Midday Nowcast: Ample Sunshine Across Alabama Today

A dry air mass is in place across the state to start the week, and the weather today and tomorrow will feature dry and pleasant conditions. Today features ample sunshine with temperatures in the low 70s. Tonight will be another cool one with lows in the mid to upper 40s. Tomorrow will feature a partly sunny sky with temperatures in the low to mid 70s.

MIDWEEK DRY COLD FRONT: A significant late season cold front will pass through the state late tomorrow night and early Wednesday. Some sprinkle are possible over the Tennessee Valley of North Alabama, but this will be a mostly dry frontal passage with very little moisture to work with. In its wake, much cooler air drops into Alabama Wednesday with highs only in the 50s and 60s, plus it will feel cooler with a blustery north wind.

FROSTY THURSDAY MORNING: As the winds go light and with a clear sky, temperatures will have no problem falling into the 30s by Thursday morning. This kind of setup always brings a wide ranging temperatures. Most places will stay above freezing with a low in the 32-42 degree range, but some colder spots could hit 32 degrees or lower. Quite a bit of frost is likely across the Alabama landscape…Growers beware!!! Thursday afternoon will feature tons of sunshine with highs in the low to mid 60s.
