Midday Nowcast: Plenty of Sunshine, Warming Up

| April 26, 2021 @ 11:15 am

An upper ridge is building in over the region, that means nice and warm days with more sun than clouds. Highs today will be around 80°, while Tuesday and Wednesday will be in the low to mid 80s, very warm for the final week of April.

Nights will be fair and comfortable with temps generally in the 50s and 60s. Through the week, moisture levels slowly rise so each day should feature a few more clouds, but we look to stay dry into Thursday.

RAIN/STORMS RETURN: A front will approach the area Thursday bringing our next chance of rain late Thursday afternoon, Thursday night, and into Friday morning. Good news, there will be very little instability and the main dynamics will pass well to the north of Alabama, so for now severe storms are no in the forecast. Highs will be in the 70s Thursday and Friday. Rain amounts for most of the state will be around one inch, and the rain will end from northwest to southeast during the day Friday.
