A Very Nice Midday Just Starting Off a Beautiful Weekend

We have just a few fair-weather clouds dotting the skies across Central Alabama as we are making the run-up to the noon hour. At this point, it feels really nice outdoors as well. Temperatures as of 11:50 am were in the 70s across the area. Troy and Selma were the warm spots at 77 degrees. Auburn was the cool spot at 72 degrees. Birmingham was sitting at 75 degrees.

We’ll continue to have very nice weather throughout the remainder of your Saturday with mostly clear skies and highs reaching the mid-70s to the lower 80s. Skies will be mainly clear throughout the evening and overnight hours with lows reaching the lower to mid-50s.

Sunday will continue the mainly sunny and dry conditions with warmer temperatures. Afternoon highs will be in the upper 70s to the mid-80s. Overnight lows will be milder, only dropping into the upper 50s to the lower 60s.

TROPICAL ATLANTIC UPDATE: There are no tropical cyclones in the Atlantic at this time and none are expected to form within the next five days. Although the Atlantic Hurricane season officially begins on June 1st, it is not uncommon for tropical cyclones to form on or prior to that date. To provide more consistent information on the potential for late May and early June systems, NHC will now begin the routine issuance of the Atlantic Tropical Weather Outlook at 8 a.m. EDT on May 15th. The Tropical Weather Outlook is issued every six hours from May 15 through November 30 at 1 am, 7 am, 1 pm, and 7 pm CDT. With the change to standard time on November 7th, the issuance times are 12 am, 6 am, 12 pm, and 6 pm CDT.
