Warm, Humid Weekend Ahead With Scattered Showers/Storms

| June 4, 2021 @ 3:12 pm

RADAR CHECK: As expected, showers are relatively scarce over the northern half of Alabama this afternoon… most of the showers and storms are over the southern counties, mainly south of U.S. 80 (Demopolis to Montgomery to Opelika). Away from showers, temperatures are in the 80s with a mix of sun and clouds over North/Central Alabama. The rain over the southern counties will diminish tonight after sunset.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: The weather won’t be much different tomorrow; a warm, humid day with mixed sun and clouds along some risk of widely scattered, mostly afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms… the high will be in the 81-85 degree range. Moisture levels will rise Sunday, and we expect a mostly cloudy day with scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms. Sunday’s high will be in the upper 70s in most places, almost ten degrees below average for early June in Alabama.

NEXT WEEK: Monday and Tuesday will feature more clouds than sun with a few showers and storms likely both days; highs will be in the mid 80s. Scattered showers and thunderstorms remain in the forecast Wednesday through Friday, but they should be fewer in number as the upper ridge tries to rebuild. Temperatures reach the upper 80s late in the week… See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.
