Strong Storms Moving Into & Across Portions of Dallas, Perry, & Chilton Counties

…SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SOUTHWESTERN CHILTON, NORTHEASTERN PERRY, AND NORTH CENTRAL DALLAS COUNTIES UNTIL 400 PM CDT…

At 334 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7 miles west of Paul M Grist State Park, or 10 miles northwest of Valley Grande, moving northeast at 30 mph. Winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include…
Maplesville, Parnell, Paul M Grist State Park, Oakmulgee, Radford, Stanton, Suttle and Summerfield.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
