CANCELED – Flood Advisory Issued for Parts of Jefferson County Until 6:30 pm

NWS Birmingham has issued a Flood Advisory for nearly all of the southern half of Jefferson County effective until 6:30 pm.

at 4:39 pm, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain that will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1/2 to 1 inch of rain has already fallen.

Cities potentially impacted: Birmingham, Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Bessemer, Homewood, Mountain Brook, Hueytown, Irondale, Fairfield, Pleasant Grove, Midfield, Adamsville, Brighton, Lipscomb, Sylvan Springs, Mulga, Maytown, Edgewater, Concord, and McDonald Chapel.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1/2 to 1 inch are expected over the area.
