EXPIRED – Flood Advisory Issued for Parts of Bibb, Jefferson, Shelby, & Tuscaloosa Counties Until 5:30 pm

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Flood Advisory for…
North Central Bibb County in central Alabama…
South Central Jefferson County in central Alabama…
West Central Shelby County in central Alabama…
East Central Tuscaloosa County in west central Alabama…

* Until 530 PM CDT.

* At 229 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have
fallen onto already saturated ground. High rainfall rates will
continue along this band of slow-moving rain.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Eastern Tuscaloosa, Hoover, Alabaster, Bessemer, Pelham, Helena,
Holt, Lake View, Brookwood, Vance, Woodstock, Tannehill Ironworks
State Park, North Bibb, Abernant, Mercedes Benz Of Alabama, Lake
Wildwood, Hoover Metropolitan Stadium, Deerlick Creek Campgrounds,
Riverchase and Caffee Junction.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
