CANCELED – Flood Advisory for Parts of Fayette & Tuscaloosa Counties Until 8:30 pm

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Flood Advisory for…
Southeastern Fayette County in west central Alabama…
Central Tuscaloosa County in west central Alabama…

* Until 830 PM CDT.

* At 526 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have
fallen so far across parts of the advisory area so far.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Northeastern Tuscaloosa, Northport, Holt, Brookwood, Coaling,
Vance, Berry, Bankhead Lock And Dam, Samantha, Binion Creek
Landing, Deerlick Creek Campgrounds, Lake Wildwood, Boley Springs,
Mercedes Benz Of Alabama, Windham Springs, Lake Nicol, Lake Nicol
Park, Highway 69 Bridge, Lake Tuscaloosa and Sexton Bend.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
