EXPIRED — Flood Warning for Parts of DeKalb Co. Until 6:45 pm

The National Weather Service in Huntsville has issued a

* Flood Warning for Small stream in…
DeKalb County in northeastern Alabama…

* Until 645 PM CDT.

* At 334 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in
the warned area. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen. Big Wills Creek
is approaching minor flood stage and is expected to continue to
increase

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Fort Payne, Rainsville, Henagar, Crossville, Sylvania, Fyffe,
Geraldine, Ider, Valley Head, Hammondville, Mentone, Pine Ridge,
Lakeview, Guest, Lebanon, Collbran, Peeks Corner, Skirum, Chigger
Hill and Desoto State Park.

Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned
area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
