All Major Roadways in Birmingham Are Getting Hazardous
There are multiple reports coming in from all around the Birmingham metropolitan area, along with portions of North Jefferson County, that roads are becoming hazardous and impassable in some locations.
Do not get on the roadways tonight unless it is an emergency.
Plenty of cars have stalled in the floodwaters and there have been a few reports of water rescues.
Unfortunately, there is plenty of heavy rain back off to the south and southwest of these locations that are seeing the floodwaters rise and bringing the travel on a good number of roadways and even I-65 to a standstill.
FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY remains in effect for portions of Jefferson and Shelby counties until 1:15 am Thursday morning.
FLASH FLOOD WARNING remains in effect for parts of Cullman County until midnight.
FLASH FLOOD WARNING remains in effect for parts of Madison and Marshall counties until 1:00 am Thursday morning.
FLASH FLOOD WARNING remains in effect for parts of Jackson County until midnight.
Here are a few Tweets:
Dangerous and life threatening flash flood emergency is still ongoing in Jefferson County.
This is NOT the evening to challenge mother nature and get out in your vehicle. There are multiple water rescues and flooded roadways.
?? JUST. STAY. HOME. ??
