Sunday Weather Xtreme: Dry & Warm Weather Continues Through Much of the Workweek Ahead

| October 10, 2021 @ 6:53 am

SUNDAY’S WEATHER: Today will be another bright and mostly sunny day across Central Alabama, with warm temperatures and very little wind. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s for most across the area.

THE WORKWEEK AHEAD: A cold front will be approaching the area on Monday but will stay to our west, which will leave us with partly to mostly sunny skies and highs in the lower to mid 80s. The front weakens and eventually dissipates over the area on Tuesday. A few locations may just see a brief shower before that happens, but nearly everyone will remain dry. Highs will be in the 80s. We continue to stay in the 80s on Wednesday as skies will be mostly sunny. Same story on Thursday, with highs in the 80s. Another cold front will begin working toward and eventually into the area on Friday that will bring a chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms, but the odds for rain look to be small at the moment. Highs will be in the lower to mid 80s.

NEXT WEEKEND: Going into next weekend, the front will push through the area on Saturday, keeping a chance of showers and thunderstorms possible. Highs will be in the lower 70s to the lower 80s. Next Sunday looks to be a fabulous day across Central Alabama, with plenty of sun and highs potentially in the mid 60s to the lower 70s across the area.

THE TROPICS: The disturbance off of the North Carolina coast is showing a little better definition in its circulation center, but the shower activity continues to be unorganized. It has a 50% chance of becoming a subtropical storm today, but conditions will become unfavorable for development on Monday. It is forecast to slowly move northward and bring rain and gusty winds to the eastern portions of North Carolina. The rest of the tropics remain quiet for now.
