Midday Nowcast: Passing Showers and Falling Temperatures

| November 18, 2021 @ 10:44 am

It is mainly cloudy across the area as a cold front is moving through the state today.

It continues to produce some scattered showers across the state as it does. Moisture is very limited, so rainfall amounts should be under a quarter of an inch for most communities. Highs today for North/Central Alabama will be in the mid to upper 60s, but once the front passes your location, temperatures will begin to drop.

Tonight will feature a clearing sky and colder temps with lows falling into the low and mid 30s by first thing tomorrow morning.

FRIDAY AND THE WEEKEND: A much cooler air mass settles in behind the front and tomorrow will be sunny, breezy, and much cooler with highs in the mid to upper 50s. After starting the day off in the 30s, Saturday will feature highs in the low to mid 60s with abundant sunshine. Sunday will remain dry with increasing clouds as some showers could return as early as Sunday evening and Sunday night with our next cold front. Highs Sunday will be in the upper 60s.

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS: For the high school playoff games tomorrow night, the sky will be clear with temperatures falling through the 40s, possibly reaching the upper 30s by the final whistle.
