Winter Weather Advisory Expanded Further South

The NWS in Birmingham has added several counties to their Winter Weather Advisories.

New counties include: Autauga, Barbour, Bullock, Chambers, Chilton, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Montgomery, Pike, Russell, and Tallapoosa. It goes until 3 p.m.

Rain is changing to snow over these counties and there could be accumulations up to one inch in spots.

The same goes for the other counties still under the Winter Weather Advisories further north across Central Alabama.

Snow is starting to stick on Mount Cheaha in Cleburne County. Snow also was being reported at Opelika in Lee County with accumulations on grassy surfaces. Same from Rockford in Coosa COunty and Dadeville in Tallapoosa COunty.
