Midday Nowcast: Cold and Cloudy Friday Afternoon
It remains cloudy and cold with temperatures not making it out of the 30s for most of North and Central Alabama today. North winds remain in the 10-15 mph range, which makes it feel colder as well.
There remains some areas of light rain and perhaps a wintry mix across South Alabama, but the rest of the state will remain dry today. Late today, there could be some sun over the northern counties of the state, but most the state won’t see the sky clear until tonight. Tonight will be very cold with teen and low 20s over the northern half of Alabama.
THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: Sunshine returns tomorrow, but it will remain cold as highs will be in the mid 40s for most locations. Tomorrow night looks to be a degree or two colder than tonight, so prepare to start Sunday off in the teens and 20s again. Sunday will feature more sun than clouds highs should range from the upper 40s to lower 50s.
NEXT WEEK: Monday will be dry with highs in the low 50s. Clouds increase late Monday and rain returns to Alabama late Monday night, lasting through the day Tuesday. No severe weather threat and no winter weather threat at this time as thermal profiles will be too warm. Rainfall amount around one-half inch are expected, with highs amounts across South Alabama. The rest of the week looks dry with the temperatures in the 40s and lows in the 20s.
