Midday Nowcast: Generally Sunny and Warm

There were a few spotty showers over Central Alabama this morning, but those have since dissipated our pushed off into Southwest Alabama. We are seeing a generally sunny sky with highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s this afternoon. There could be a few more showers across West Alabama through out the afternoon, but the rest of the state will remain dry,

ACROSS THE USA: Severe thunderstorms will continue across the Upper Midwest into Thursday with all hazards possible. Fire weather concerns persist across eastern Colorado and the south-central High Plains with elevated to critical conditions. This region continues to be extremely dry with drought conditions and winds remaining gusty during peak heating hours.

FRIDAY AND THE WEEKEND: Little change in the forecast tomorrow with our the weather staying generally sunny, very warm, and mostly dry. Rain chances are less than 10% and temperatures will be in the the mid to upper 80s. We will mention a few more scattered showers over the weekend, but nothing widespread or heavy. Otherwise, look for a partly sunny sky Saturday and Sunday with highs remaining in the mid to upper 80s. Chance of any one place seeing rain both days is around 20 percent.

NEXT WEEK: The upper ridge goes nowhere, so the pattern looks to remain dry with no prospects of widespread or beneficial rain. Much of next week looks fairly quiet with only a few isolated showers around from time to time. Highs will range from the upper 80s to lower 90s most of the week.
