EXPIRED — Flood Advisory: Parts of Calhoun, Cherokee, Cleburne Co. Until 6:15 pm

…FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 615 PM CDT THIS EVENING…

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE…A portion of central Alabama, including the following
counties, Calhoun, Cherokee and Cleburne.

* WHEN…Until 615 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 414 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
slow-moving thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or
expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and
3 inches of rain have already fallen.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Fruithurst, Edwardsville, Mars Hills, Muscadine, Coleman Lake
And Campground, Liberty Hill, Oak Level, Sweetwater Lake,
Borden Springs and Choccolocco.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
