EXPIRED Flash Flood Warning — Parts of Montgomery Co. Until 9 pm

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for…
Northwestern Montgomery County in south central Alabama…

* Until 900 PM CDT.

* At 658 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of
rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1
hour. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the
warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.

HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE…Radar.

IMPACT…Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Montgomery, Alabama State University, Alabama State Capitol,
Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium, Gunter Air Force Base, Montgomery
Zoo, Boylston, Lagoon Park, Maxwell Air Force Base, Eastdale Mall,
Woodcrest, Auburn University In Montgomery, Hunter and Mitylene.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
