Alabama Radio Moments
The Alabama Department of Archives and History (ADAH) presents “Alabama Radio Moments” at the Museum of Alabama Saturday, Sept. 10. The exhibit will explore ways radio influenced the lives of Alabamians in the 20th century, how they learned about current events, enjoyed sports and music, and connected with the world beyond their local community. Featuring items from the launch of Alabama’s first public radio station through the beginning of the age of television and into the 1970s, the exhibit will also highlight Alabamians’ contributions to radio technology and programming and the importance of radio to the social and political climate of the era. ADAH will kick off the opening on Saturday with radio topics, family activities and demonstration. Admission to the events and to the Museum of Alabama are free. “Alabama Radio Moments” will be on display through May 2023 Monday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
