Midday Nowcast: Another Sun-Filled Fall Day

TODAY/TOMORROW: The warming trend is underway this afternoon as temperatures return to the low and mid 60s. Tonight, will be cold, but most locations should remain above the freezing mark with 30s and 40s common. Tomorrow will be a sunny day with a high in the low 70s. Tomorrow night will be another great night for high school football across Alabama; the sky will be clear with temperatures falling through the 60s.

FOOTBALL WEATHER: Tonight, South Alabama will host Troy (6:30p CT kickoff); the sky will be clear; about 66 degrees at kickoff… upper 50s by the fourth quarter. A perfect night for a big South Alabama battle.

UAB has a Friday night special this week; the Blazers travel to Bowling Green to take on Western Kentucky (7p CT kickoff)… the sky will be clear with temperatures falling from around 65 degrees at kickoff into the mid 50s by the final whistle.

Saturday, Jacksonville State hosts SE Louisiana (1:00p CT kickoff)… the sky will be sunny with temperatures in the mid 70s.

Alabama will host Mississippi State Saturday evening (6:00p CT kickoff); the sky will be clear in Tuscaloosa with temperatures falling from near 74 at kickoff into the 60s during the second half.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: Sunny, dry, and pleasant weather continues Saturday and Sunday with highs in the 70s. Nights will be clear and chilly with lows in the 40s and 50s.

NEXT WEEK: Monday will be dry with a high in the upper 70s, but we will bring in a chance of showers Tuesday as a cold front passes through the state. Some thunder is possible, but no risk of severe storms. Rain amounts will be generally under 1/2 inch with limited moisture. Then, the weather will be dry Wednesday through Friday with highs mostly in the upper 60s.

IN THE TROPICS: All is quiet and no development is expected through the weekend. Don’t forget the season does not end until the end of November, which means we still have over a month to go before we can breathe easy.
