We have a cooler, northeasterly flow into the state today with temperatures 10-15 lower than yesterday. It is a mainly sunny day with highs in the low 70s this afternoon. Tomorrow will feature increasing clouds and we should begin to see rain push into southeast Alabama associated with Nicole. Rain will spread into the eastern 2/3 of the state tomorrow night, with rain amounts of 1-2 inches possible over the eastern counties. Communities over far West Alabama will see little to no rain. Winds will also increase, gusts in the 40/45 mph range are likely over Southeast Alabama tomorrow afternoon. Clouds and a few showers will linger into Friday with a high in the 60s.

Nicole’s center is then expected to move across central and northern Florida into southern Georgia Thursday and Thursday night, and then across the Carolinas Friday and Friday night.

Maximum sustained winds are near 70 mph with higher gusts.
