Some Clouds, Some Sun, & Below-Normal Temperatures Through the Weekend

THIS WEEKEND: After a chilly start, clouds will be on the increase throughout the day, but no rain is expected as all the shower activity will be confined to the Gulf Coast. Highs in the upper 40s to the upper 50s. Clouds will be decreasing on Sunday and bright sunshine will return. However, we’ll hang on to these colder, below-average temperatures as highs will be in the mid 40s to the lower 50s.

NEXT WEEK: A shortwave will be moving toward Central Alabama on Monday that will bring more clouds to the area, but we look to stay dry at this point. However, we’ll start to see a warming trend as highs will be in the lower 50s to the lower 60s. The first half of your Tuesday looks to be dry, but with the shortwave passing through, a few showers will become possible during the afternoon and into the evening hours. Highs in the 50s. A few showers look to remain possible during the first half of Wednesday with the activity dissipating by early afternoon. Highs in the upper 50s to the lower 60s.

The daylight hours on Thanksgiving Day look to be dry with mostly sunny skies to start, but clouds will be increasing from the west as a frontal system will be approaching. Rain will start to move into the western parts of the area by sunset or just after and looks to make it to the I-59 corridor by midnight. Highs in the upper 50s to the upper 60s.

And at the end of the forecast period on Friday… Rain will continue to push eastward as the front continues to slowly move through Central Alabama. For those shoppers of the big deals, you will definitely need to have an umbrella handy. Rain looks to be out of the area completely by midnight. Afternoon highs in the lower 50s to the lower 60s.

TROPICAL OUTLOOK: The tropics are all quiet at this point as we are nearing the end of the Atlantic Hurricane Season for the year. No new tropical or subtropical systems are expected to form within the next five days.
