Wind Advisory Issued for Much of Central Alabama on Thursday

NWS Birmingham has issued a WIND ADVISORY effective from 6 am Thursday morning to 6 pm Thursday evening for most counties in Central Alabama. Those counties are:

Autauga, Barbour, Bibb, Blount, Bullock, Calhoun, Chambers, Cherokee, Chilton, Clay, Cleburne, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Etowah, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Montgomery, Perry, Pickens, Pike, Randolph, Russell, Shelby, St. Clair, Sumter, Talladega, Tallapoosa, Tuscaloosa.

…WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM TO 6 PM CST THURSDAY…

* WHAT…Southwest winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph expected.

* WHERE…Portions of central Alabama.

* WHEN…From 6 AM to 6 PM CST Thursday.

* IMPACTS…Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
