The Midday Report: Nice & Warm with Plenty of Sunshine

TODAY: As of the 12pm roundup, skies were sunny across all of Central Alabama, with temperatures up in the upper 70s to the lower 80s. The warm spots were Eufaula and Troy at 83º. Six reporting stations were tied as the cool spots at 77º. Birmingham was at 80º.

We’ll continue to have sunny skies through the afternoon, with highs ranging from the lower 80s in the northwest to the upper 80s in the southeast. For tonight, skies will remain clear, and it will get cool, but not cold. Lows in the lower to mid 50s.

THURSDAY-FRIDAY: It will be close to the same weather on Thursday as we are seeing today, except for a few passing clouds. We’ll continue to stay nice and warm, with highs in the mid to upper 80s. Much of the day on Friday will be bright, with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid 70s to the mid 80s. However, showers will move into the area by Friday evening and exit the area by Saturday morning, with the main window being from 9 pm to 9 am.

THIS WEEKEND: Skies will clear out from west to east on Saturday afternoon, with highs topping out in the mid 60s to the lower 70s across the area. Sunshine returns in full force on Sunday as highs will be in the 60s. Should be no issues at Talladega for race weekend, or down in Tuscaloosa for the A-Day game.

THE WORK WEEK BEGINS: The start to next week will be sunny and dry on Monday, with highs in the upper 60s to the lower 70s. Tuesday will be partly to mostly sunny, with a few isolated showers possible during the afternoon. Highs in the upper 60s to the upper 70s.
