Winter weather is expected tonight into tomorrow across the northern part of Alabama. And while we aren’t expecting significant amounts of snow or ice, some travel impacts are expected especially on bridges and overpasses over the far northern part of the state where minor accumulations are possible.

We don’t encourage driving during winter weather conditions. However, sometimes there are emergencies, so if you must travel, here are 4 tips to keep in mind.

  1. Clean off your vehicle before you leave.
  2. Drive slowly, and not with cruise control
  3. Leave extra distance between you and other vehicles
  4. Have a winter weather survival kit in your car

Following these tips will help to keep you safe if you must drive in wintry conditions!
