Alabama Severe Weather Tax Free Weekend
The annual severe weather awareness tax free weekend starts Today and will run through the entire weekend ending at midnight on Sunday. During this tax free weekend, certain severe weather preparedness items will be eligible to be tax free, as long as that item is $60 or less per item. Some of the items that are eligible include batteries, cell phone chargers, weather radios, flashlights, and even generators if the cost is $1,000 or less.
During this tax free weekend, we encourage residents to stock up on the supplies they need to be prepared for severe weather. Make sure you have a preparedness kit in or near your safe place BEFORE severe weather strikes your area. And while you’re at it, go ahead and practice your severe weather safety plan as well.
