The Alabama Weather Situation

Storms have weakened considerably across North Alabama over the past hour.

All warnings have expired.

The most notable storms at this hour are located…

…from Arab to Union Grove in Marshall County…
…over Marion County…both north and east of Hamilton…
…in Madison County approaching the city of Huntsville…
…a storm that has peaked north of Pinson…moving south…

A large area of light to moderate rain is pushing south across Blount, southern Cullman, Winston and northeastern Walker Counties. It is gradually diminishing.

A powerfrul outflow boundary is pushign across much of the Birmingham metro area now. It passed Trussville with sustained 20 mph winds for several minutes. This feature may fire storms south of I-20 over the next hour.

7 N Wetumpka [Elmore Co, AL] emergency mngr reports TSTM WND DMG at 05:45 PM CDT — trees snapped and shed collapsed.

6 Ne Wetumpka [Elmore Co, AL] trained spotter reports HAIL of quarter size (E1.00 INCH) at 05:59 PM CDT — near town of santuck.

Double Springs [Winston Co, AL] law enforcement reports TSTM WND DMG at 06:00 PM CDT — trees and powerlines down countywide.

Eclectic [Elmore Co, AL] trained spotter reports TSTM WND DMG at 06:11 PM CDT — power outages in eastern part of the county.

Locust Fork [Blount Co, AL] emergency mngr reports TSTM WND DMG at 06:14 PM CDT — trees and powerlines down at junction of county rd 15 and hwy 79.
