Northeast Alabama Ice Issues Continue

Some late reports via my Twitter feed…

*Amateur Radio reporting 5 vehicle accident I-59 N about 168-169 mile marker due to ice. #alwx

*Lawson Gap Road between Mizell Road and Mountainboro Road is closed. (Etowah County) #alwx

*Roads over Cleburne county are becoming extremely dangerous. Accidents are happening all over the area. Too numerous to mention. #alwx

*Local area emergencies have been declared for DeKalb, Etowah, Marshall, St. Clair, and Calhoun counties due to bridge icing.

*All roads on top of Lookout Mountain remain closed

*Blount County Commission District 2 has closed County Hwy 49 that runs betwen US 231 and Al Hwy 79 due to icy conditions.

*Bridge on us highway 411 over the Coosa River completely iced over in Cherokee County

For the Birmingham metro and points to the south and west, temperatures are now well above freezing and there will be no additional problems tonight.
